By the time your wedding day arrives, you will be more than ready to enjoy everything that you have spent planning within the last year (or more). You have worked hard to ensure that every detail is perfection personified, and so we are telling you the 5 things people forget to tell you about your wedding day. Trust us, these 5 things are very important to know!
1. Let’s face it, you or someone else, is going to forget to do something.
Usually, couples are so overwhelmed with people, vendors, and miscellaneous tasks, that they usually end up forgetting to do at least one simple task; like grabbing a bite to eat, spraying on some deodorant, or even drinking anything but mimosas. Don’t fret however, as this is where you should rely on your Bridesmaids for help! Make a list of the smaller things, that you can give to your Bridesmaids, and put them in charge of reminding you to take care of yourself throughout your day. It will help immensely throughout the day.
2. There will be at least one thing that doesn’t go as planned.
This is completely unavoidable. There is no way you would be able to plan for everything, when other people are involved. We have been to countless weddings, and we have seen things such as a cake not arriving, to guests arriving completely smashed, and beyond happen throughout the day. But, with all of that being said, it is still better to go into your big day, expecting at least one thing to not go right. And if you do that, you won’t feel as if your entire day is ruined, if and when something does go wrong. And if that doesn’t help, think of this: the show must go on! Your guests won’t have a single clue that your carnations are a slightly different hue than you ordered, or that the boutonniere somehow ended up on the wrong side of one groomsman. They will only remember your happiness, and the joy they felt celebrating with you and your loved ones.
3. Time flies while having fun.
Picture this: One moment, you’re getting your hair ready, enjoying a mimosa with your bridesmaids, and then the next moment, you’re sitting in your getaway car with your new husband, wondering where the entire day went! That’s exactly why hiring the perfect photographer for your wedding is so important. People aren’t lying or exaggerating when they say that your day will go by in a flash. Which brings us to…
4. Take a moment to step aside with your spouse, and BREATHE.
This is a major tip we tell all of our Intriguing Brides and Grooms. This is your day, and you should really take a moment or two throughout the day to simply enjoy what is going on around you. Your wedding day will truly be a whirlwind adventure, and if you don’t take the time to step back, it will be gone in the blink of an eye. Ask us about our “10 Minute Rule”, and how it can enhance your wedding day experience.
5. Prepare for the exhaustion to hit, right as you leave the reception hall.
With everything that you’ve accomplished during the day, including: getting ready, greeting everyone, being nervous throughout the ceremony, all the pictures, making speeches, listening to speeches, dancing, and so much more… You will be exhausted. There is no way around this, so be sure to rest well during the three days leading up to your wedding day. Take as many opportunities to drink water when you can, and to take a seat for a moment or two. This will help to ensure that you have plenty of energy during the course of the day. Also, expect sleep to be hard to come by the night before your wedding. It can be hard to sleep when you’re eagerly anticipating the happiest day of your life!
