There’s something to be said for the level of comfort you can attain in working with a client multiple times leading up to their wedding day. This awesome couple, who were wed at the Silver Shores Waterfront banquet facility in Wyandotte Michigan, were no strangers to us and our “go with the flow” photography techniques once the time came for their wedding day. We had worked with them as photographers for their engagement session, as well as two family sessions – one in a studio, and the other was a lifestyle shoot. As a result, by the time their wedding day arrived, it was like visiting with old friends!
Detroit Wedding Photographers on New Year’s
A New Year’s Eve Wedding Photography Adventure
We love a good celebration. I mean, who doesn’t, right? Well, talk about a great celebration here! We had the great pleasure to photograph a wedding that was taking place on New Year’s Eve, with the reception being held well into New Year’s Day (early morning hours.) The Bride and Groom held a party to remember, and we couldn’t be happier for them!
This wonderful party was held at the Hotel Baronette in Novi, Michigan. This venue features a beautiful sitting area, complete with a giant roaring fireplace. The decorations were gorgeous here as well, and complimented the party with style.
We had a great time, especially with the guys (as you’ll see below) and the photos turned out beautifully. While this wedding took place last year (2013-2014), we don’t want to leave these photos behind. We are hopeful to shoot at this location again in the future, and wanted to share with you all the beauty that can result from this venue. Read on below to see some of our favorite photographs from this very fun wedding!
Metro Detroit Wedding Pictures
One of our favorite weddings to photograph this year was this beautiful outdoor wedding that took place in Carlton, Michigan. This gorgeous wedding also had the best reception location we have had the great pleasure to photograph, and that was the stunning backdrop of Downtown Detroit itself!
This amazing couple chose the Four Star Proven Winners for their wedding venue, and I must say… the photos from this venue turned out so dreamy! They had a covered bridge there, gorgeous flowers, and a beautiful area in the gardens set aside for the ceremony itself to take place.
As for the reception, it took place at the beautiful Grand Ballroom of the Doubletree Hilton in downtown Detroit. The ballroom was spacious, beautifully decorated, and had plenty of space for dining and dancing.
Before we went to the reception site, however, we had a fun time driving around in their limo bus visiting famous locations throughout downtown, including Comerica Park, the Fox Theater, and the Joe Louis Fist right across from Hart Plaza.

Wedding at the St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church
Looking back at this lovely Armenian-American wedding at the Saint Sarkis church in Dearborn, Michigan, just simply brings tears to my eyes. Not only was the church amazingly beautiful inside, but they also had one of the most ornate wedding ceremonies I have ever witnessed. The Armenian people are quite charming, witty, beautiful, and very friendly. (I know this from experience from photographing this wedding, as well as from my husband’s family. He too, is Armenian.) This ceremony took place between an Armenian woman and her husband, who was American, but was adopted into the Armenian culture by his new Armenian family and church. To see some of the photos from this ceremony, please read on below.
Downriver Wedding Photos at the Taylor Conservatory
We had the great pleasure of photographing a wedding located at the Taylor Conservatory, on August 23rd of this year. I must say, this is a beautiful venue, and would highly recommend it to any of those clients looking to do a beautiful outdoor wedding, where flowers are plenty. Not only does this venue offer a gazebo for a reception (or ceremony!) and tons of flowers, it also is located on a nice big park complete with a petting zoo, open fields, a pond, and an old train. Our Bride and Groom were quite classic looking and it fit the venue they chose perfectly, in my opinion. The Bride made all of the decorations herself for this wedding and reception, as well as the invitations and many other things. The groom was funny, and quite witty, which are always pleasurable traits to work with. To see some of the photos we were able to capture, please continue on below!
